SOMNOvent CR
The sleep medicine therapy solution for heart failure patients
For patients with Cheyne-Stokes Respiration and central, mixed or complex sleep apnea, SOMNOvent CR (CR = Cardio-Respiratory) offers the therapy of choice. Your patients' breathing is stabilized by Anti-Cyclical Modulated Ventilation (ACMV), also known as Adaptive ServoVentilation (ASV). The new automatic backup frequency Prio S prevents central apnea and protects the patient from desaturation. The autoTriLevel Principle ensures appropriate dynamic pressure reaction to periodic breathing and eliminates obstructions. The device's high level of automation significantly simplifies and speeds up the setting and titration processes.
The major features of SOMNOvent CR:
Therapy Comfort
- The autoTriLevel Principle in combination with Anti-Cyclical Modulated Ventilation (ACMV) provides the highest therapy effectiveness with three pressure levels (IPAP, DPAP and EEPAP) that automatically adjust to the needs of the patient
- WMtrak technology: The automatic trigger technology by Weinmann ensures optimal synchronization between patient breathing and the device.
- Comfortable with Softstart and Autostart
Operating Convenience
- Great degree of automation in titration and setting processes saves time
- Extensive data are clearly presented
- Convenient remote setting with SOMNOadjust or the PC software WEINMANNsupport
Safety
- Backup frequency
- innovative automatic backup frequency Prio S (S = spontaneous) protects patient from desaturation and gently supports patient during spontaneous breathing or ...
- ... with a pre-set backup frequency
- Leakage indicator for simple visualization of leakage during therapy
- Mask test
CR mode: ACMV with three pressure levels
Effect and benefit for patient
SOMNOvent CR has three pressure levels, IPAP (inspiratory pressure), EPAP (expiratory pressure) and EEPAP (end-expiratory pressure). In conjunction with detected events, the pressure levels are automatically adjusted to the current needs of the patient.
- EEPAP is the pressure required to eliminate obstructions.
- At declining respiratory minute volume, SOMNOvent CR supports the patient’s breathing by means of a continuous increase in the IPAP/EPAP difference.
- At increasing respiratory minute volume, the IPAP/EPAP difference is reduced to zero (CPAP) to quiet the patient’s breathing.
- In the event of apnea, SOMNOvent CR automatically ventilates at a patient-specific or fixed backup frequency.
Fast relief
While Anti-Cyclic Modulated Ventilation (ACMV) smoothes out respiratory fluctuations, pathophysiological breathing is modulated into physiological breathing. In the process hyperventilation is suppressed. Both central and obstructive breathing patterns are recorded and efficiently regulated.
Because the regulation is gentle, it guarantees the patient a night of sound sleep. The intelligent algorithm continuously adapts to the patient throughout the night, resulting in optimum therapy.
