CS Therapy
In CS therapy the patient is ventilated by means of ACMV (Anti-Cyclical Modulated Ventilation) with three pressure levels. They are: IPAP (upper pressure level during inspiration), EPAP (low pressure level at the start of expiration) and EEPAP (pressure level at the end of expiration). The device detects respiratory events and automatically adjusts pressure levels in response to the patient's current needs. The innovative automatic backup frequency Prio S (S = Spontaneous) protects from desaturation and gently returns the patient to spontaneous breathing.
CS therapy with SOMNOvent CR is primarily used by patients who suffer from central sleep apnea with Cheyne-Stokes breathing and heart failure.
